A CHILD'S EYE VIEW: AMAZONIAN LANDSCAPES

The rainforest encircles me. Giant trees touch the sky, their leaves like green blankets stretching as far as I can see. The air is heavy with the flowers and wet earth. A rainbow of colors bursts from the wings of a bird. I skip through the forest, my feet sticky on the soft ground. I listen for the squealing of animals hiding beneath the leaves.
